In which year did you started to do the fitness sport?
I became interested in fitness because I wanted to be just as strong as my older brother (I have yet to accomplish that goal and besides, its no longer a goal of mine). I first started working out 10 years ago when I joined a gym with my weekly allowance money. I believe I was the only girl that trained there, surrounded by big hard core bodybuilders, I guess you could say I didn't necessarily fit in. I have been competing in fitness at a National level for the past 3 years.

Why do you like fitness?
I love to use my creativity to choreograph my fitness routines, design my own costumes, and ponder an original theme. Although I am not capable of mixing my music, I enjoy choosing my songs and sound effects, which brings the whole routine to life on stage. The adrenaline that runs through my veins while I am performing is a feeling that could never be duplicate, and the sense of accomplishment that I have when leaving the stage could never be surpassed, but most importantly, the hugs and smiles on the faces of my friends and family when I leave that stage is the most incredible feeling of all.

What is your favourite meal and drink?
My favorite drink is margaritas (everything is fine in moderation, come on) and pizza is my favorite cheat food. Chocolate is good too, I'm a woman, we need this stuff to function sometimes.

What is your favourite diet meal?
Oatmeal mixed with egg whites and topped with fat-free spray butter and sugar-free blackberry jelly. Mmm...sounds sick, huh?

What do you think about the fat burners products?
I think they should be used with caution especially if you have a preexisting medical condition, such as high blood pressure or a family history of heart disease. Like any diet supplement the should not be used to replace good nutrition and regular exercise.

Do you use the fat burners products?
I use "Diet Fuel" prior to a fitness competition to boost my energy in order to get me through my strenuous training sessions, and enhance my rate of fat loss. I only use it on the days that I work out. If I were to take them consistently without cycling the pills, overtime my body would eventually relay on them just to get you through the day, and the appetite suppression and fat loss benefits would diminish.

What do you think about the fitness competitions? Do you think, that the fitness competitions are only about the big muscular?
I think that fitness competitions are a positive avenue to pursue as a healthy, active woman. Most pageants these days are based on a combination of femininity and athleticism. It is apparent that these women participated in combination of rigorous training, proper nutrition, and pure mental focus.

What do you think about the future in fitness competitions?
Hopefully they will truly reward a softer, less muscular physique, one in which women can aspire to and possibly attain. You never know though, they have been saying that for a few years and it has yet to make much of an impact. I feel the sport should represent athletic, healthy women and I will never compromise my idea of that.

Say something about your gymnastics preparation.
I have never had formal gymnastic training but a few of my friends have given me pointers on proper form and technique. I practice my few moves at least twice a week, even in the off season. My routines focus mainly on my dance and strength moves. It is always good to do what you do best, and I feel my strong point is my free style dancing. I love to entertain the crowd when I break it down on stage.

Is for you the period of the diets before the fitness competition hard?
Of course. Every morsel of food has to be measured before it enters my mouth during those 12 gruesome weeks prior to a competition. Chicken, sweet potatoes, broccoli, chicken, sweet potatoes, broccoli, chicken...should I continue? They say "Crave the trophy, not the food," but try telling a fitness competitor that when she smells freshly baked bread or watches one of those late night pizza commercials on TV. I must say, when it is all said and done, every sacrifice is well worth the sense of satisfaction I receive following my show.

What is for you the hardest in fitness sport?
I would have to say my own self criticism. I am a highly motivated hard worker, constantly striving to improve myself, although sometimes I put way too much pressure on myself. This year, my goal has changed to progress, not perfection. Now, as a result of my new outlook on things, I enjoy fitness more than I ever did before.

What is your dream in fitness /what do you want to reach for /?
My ultimate objective is to lead by example, educating & assisting others in achieving a healthier mind and body.

Being able to share my accomplishments with my friends and family.

Write your another hobbies?
I also enjoy painting, jewelry making, fashion/interior design, writing, freestyle dancing, roller-blading, tennis, indoor rock climbing, and scuba diving.

What you be happy and be worry /saddy/ in this year?
I think we were all devastated by the event of September 11th. My idea of what is "important" has forever been altered. I've learned to appreciate the little things in life, every single conversation, smile, & sudden burst of laughter. My grandfather always told me to "stop and smell the flowers," I'm now taking that advice to heart. I never take anything, or more importantly, anyone for granted anymore. I try to spend as much time as possible with my friends and family, celebrating birthdays, holidays, and most of all, life.

Write please your favourite and not in favour exercise.
I love any exercise that I can perform while using the stability ball. I perform over 100 exercises using it, which trains my muscles to work together for optimal body movement. Unlike conventional exercise machines that strengthen only the superficial muscles in the body, the stability ball helps me to eliminate any existing muscle imbalances by working the deepest muscles in my body.
